Nowadays, cosplay has become more and more popular in Thailand. However, the parents of some young cosplayers are not supportive of their children partaking in this activity. Cause Play is a project meant to help parents understand their children’s interest in cosplay better by introducing them to the cosplay culture and inviting them to go to comic cons.
The conclusion of the research done behind Cause Play has found that the main reason parents of underaged cosplayers are unsupportive of the activity comes from the parents lack of knowledge about cosplay culture and their concern about cosplay’s negative impact on their children. It has been found that the best solution to these problems is to provide more insight about cosplay for the parents and invite them along to comic cons for a personal experience.
This project consists of a book and an application. The book “Understanding Cosplayers” has all the information that parents need to know about cosplay culture and an incentive for them to go to comic cons. The app “Go Go Comic Con” will be the guide for parents going to comic cons. It will provide parents with information that they might need to know when attending the event.
The book will be in A3 size.
The QR code on the last page will lead the readers to Go Go Comic Con app. The can badge will be given by the same time when the reader receive the book, it is for related activity that will be mentioned in the app.
Prize post card that will be given when readers participate in related activities.
