Urbanization transforms cities into high-rise buildings of glass and steel, stripping warmth and identity. The cities that were once full of life are now dominated by towers and skyscrapers. Isolation replaces connection to community, and repetition erases character. Spaces that are supposed to make us feel alive instead appear hollow. It is only good for function but lacks a soul. This project uses the hollow-face illusion to symbolize the lifelessness of the urban cityscape. The illusion tricks the eye into seeing depth where there is none. Modern cities give the illusion of progress while lacking human connection. By blending optical illusion with geometric shapes similar to urban imagery, the work invites viewers to question whether our cities are truly progressing or merely facades of urban life.
