UH-AH (อุอะ) aims to criticize authoritarian figures in Thailand through acronyms commonly used by Generation Z, such as "อส" and "อห."
UH-Ah’s concept necessitated designing Thai alphabets from ก to ฮ to enable Thai Gen Z to express their political views through these coded typographic designs. The design of each consonant contains hidden critical or paradoxical meanings. For example, while most Thai Gen relates the letter อ with independence "อ.อิสระ", its design appears constrained—contradicting its meaning to satirize current social political conditions in Thailand.
These characters are applied into wearable objects, such as necklaces, rings, hair clips, keychains, shirts, and ceremonial items that Gen Z can incorporate into daily life as a form of protest.
All designs were intended to make both fashion statements and political expressions, while creating a visual language that empowers Thai youth to communicate subversive messages through seemingly ordinary accessories. Therefore, creating broader social impact as these objects gain more and more visibility.
