"If you could create one last space for your beloved passed one, how would you want it to be?"
This question became the heart of To the One I Love, a project rooted in the belief that funerals can hold space for both the living and the departed. It explores the idea that a coffin, as the final place on earth where a person comes to rest, can be reimagined as a narrative medium, not just as a container, but a vessel of love. A space where memory is given form, where relationships are tenderly expressed through design, and where the living are able to leave a part of themselves alongside the one they have lost.
Five stories were gathered from individuals who had experienced the loss of someone they deeply loved. Through conversations surrounding memory, grief, and final wishes, five coffin designs emerged, each one shaped as a deeply personal farewell. Together, they become spaces for remembrance, closure, and quiet offerings that carry the bond between the living and the departed beyond death.
