In the Thai political landscape, instability has long persisted as the country struggles to move forward in any significant way. Moments of hope, reform, and progress are repeatedly interrupted by interventions that return society to familiar conditions, creating a cycle that continues to linger. The repetition feels less organic, and almost carefully structured by those in power. Was it truly progress, or merely the same events returning in different forms?
Eau de Coup: Pour les Citoyens is a sensory installation that transforms recurring political atmospheres into fragrance-based sculptural bottles. Each bottle represents emotional stages within Thailand’s political cycle, from hope and tension to authority and repetition.
Through scent, form, and memory, the project invites audiences to reflect on political power and change in Thailand, leaving behind one final question:
“Would you choose to break the cycle?”
